How has Earl stood her for this long?

Marrieds do that. It’s a subtle game.

Earl and Opal do some outrageously messed up stuff to each other.

A “little”,opal? A LITTLE? An understatement,sweetie…..

That’s why my wife does it….. and why. oh my gosh… As I was typing this she did it again.

At his age there’s lots of things to worry about.

At times like this I try to remember this is a comic strip.

Looking back over the years of this strip I find that she has a mean streak.

Sure you’re worried, Earl. But are you worried ENOUGH?

I know B Crane bases this comic on his in-laws. I wonder if his mom in law is truly as mean and manipulative as Opal.

That’s why I avoid developing permanent “worry lines” by thinking about pleasant things. People will occasionally stop me and ask, “Are you thinking about something funny?” :)
