Hospitals used to let you go barefoot but cracks in dry skin can allow some nasty cross-infections. So now we have the disposable socks. By the way, throw them out.
My husband got lots of them but I couldn’t let him wear them. His feet were so bad from diabetes that they would create sores on his feet that would get infected. It was quite a battle we had with the hospital to keep them off.
