My brother Mick would annoyingly order a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, no matter what kind of restaurant we took him to. His excuse was he was five years old.
When I was a child I had half a peanut butter sandwich (no jelly) for lunch – EVERY DAY – whether school or not.
Sometime around maybe 3rd or 4th grade mom decided that maybe I was hungry at lunch and not telling her. She sent an entire sandwich. I brought the second half home with me.
When Covid started I was back to eating peanut butter sandwich every day for lunch – though I do eat an entire sandwich now.
And once or twice I tried having same for dinner – figured 2 sandwiches for dinner would do fine as I am picky eater and don’t always want what he wants for dinner (and I end up cooking two meals) – but he insists it is not enough food to eat for dinner and I cannot have even 2 peanut butter sandwiches for dinner.

I use fruit preserves instead of jelly. I’m hoping that there’s a little more nutritive value in preserves.

JIF Creamy for my wife, store-brand crunchy for me. We both get home-made jam, currently Hollywood Plum.
