Question: How high would a wall have to be to keep Mexican bats from flying over it??

What music was played in the 1930s? If there was swing music, wouldn’t that help keep drivers from falling asleep?

Most fairy tales have a dark side to them. As for the batty bridge I would not want to be on that bridge at “take off” time.

Years later, the law in Massachusetts was changed, and forbid any station to play Kenny G.

There’s a scene in “Catcher in the Rye” when Holden Caulfield explains how his parents bought a big fancy car with a radio, but his mother won’t allow it to be turned on while they’re driving because she’s afraid that it’ll distract the driver. I’m pretty sure I know how she’d feel about cell phones and texting.

“Put it in the glove box!”

That bridge was originally designed to house bats. Architects are finding it’s a small extra step with great benefits. Also Bat Conservation International is HQ’d in Austin.

While we are on the subject of bats…a cave outside of San Antonio, Texas houses the largest bat colony on earth. When they leave the cave at dusk, they are picked up on the weather radar.

The radio car thing is true but it depends on the music. For long trips I put lively music like Dance or Trance to help fight drowsiness.

I often have news and information programming on the radio when I drive. It can be distracting. I switch off the radio when approaching a situation where I need to merge.

Did they even have car radios in the 1930s? And who could afford a car back then during the depression?

Imagine if those Massachusetts lawmakers knew what texting would become, I’m pretty sure they would have committed mass suicide.

In the 1930s there was no “Rap” music…
