On the list of top ten stupid purchases (or, how to separate a fool from his money) fireworks certainly is in the top five. (along with cigarettes and home fast food delivery. You can fill in the rest of the list)

Since fireworks are banned in so many places, I don’t think this is a record for quantity, only cost

Oh, yes, “hunting guide” Kevin Brotz must be a real He-Man to be able “capture” such a large gator. And what, exactly, do you mean by “capture” anyway? Why don’t they put Brotz and that alligator in a swamp, unarmed, and see how the big man fares…

If Kevin Brotz captured the alligator barehanded and by himself I would be impressed but he didn’t.

There is a growing anti-fireworks movement. They claim the noise from fireworks are bad for combat vets who have or might have PTSD, and bad for pets. The fireworks also contribute to air pollution and ground / water pollution from the fallout. Last U.S. Independence Day, someone made a time lapse video of the United States air quality map from AirNow.Gov websites showing decline in air quality in areas where fireworks were used.

If it were brown, people would think it was a mascot from either “Brave” or “Brother Bear.”

They did capture the alligator and then killed it…not much sport in that.

That alligator is a shrimp compared to what’s in Australia. The largest salt water crocodile caught here, in 1957, was just under 22 feet long and weighed over 4,000 pounds. Is/was in Guinness book of records.
