Hmm. It doesn’t require a hand to hold it up and it’s attached firmly enough that it won’t fly away in a strong gust of wind and hit someone in the head. I doubt it actually keeps you dry, but, then, neither do umbrellas, so I’m going to have to rate it as a slightly better option than an umbrella. Doesn’t mean I’ll actually uze it, though. I’d rather get wet without having to carry an umbrella around than carry an umbrella and still get wet, and I’m pretty sure the same logic will apply to the portable tent.
I’d be all for something new to wear that’s weather-proof from the rain when fishing, but Corky’s “stylish” outfit seems to be woefully lacking in that department.
And it leaves both hands free! Not sure about that particular design, but I wonder if something like a cross between that and an umbrella would work. I seem to recall someone had invented an umbrella hat, but it looked funny and didn’t pan out.
I have an umbrella and a booney hat but since I’m in Arizona I just wait for the rain to stop – about five minutes after a cloudburst, getting caught in the rain on my bicycle is another matter.

Grilling out in the open, in the rain? I think not. Have soup indoors. Tomorrow will be a sunny day.

Ever hear of pan-frying, Jimbo? Cooks fast, cooks clean, and seasonings don’t just fall off. And you’re out of the rain!
