I once saw a guy with a newspaper on his steering wheel covering it. He was reading and driving. I didn’t see him look up though. I passed him. Didn’t want to get involved in an accident that he caused.
I’ve not seen it, but apparently there is an app that uses the front camera to show you what is in front of you as you walk. It shows as a small window in the screen so you can read and check what is in front of you at the same time. What a sad bunch some people are. There have been a few times where someone has just crossed the road in front of me without even looking up from their phone, just relying in people to brake before hitting them. Natural selection
I am one of those troglodytes that uses my camera to make phone calls and get text messages to get codes to log into my accounts. I don’t have to look at the device to talk and listen and normally I am not walking while looking at a computer screen.
For an entertaining few hours, go to the airport and watch people walk into poles, each other, and trip over everything. They all look around to see who saw them. Amazing.
Walking while texting or reading is NOT recommended these days. If you are not carrying, you had better pay attention to your surroundings. ESPECIALLY in Democrat led cities. You are instantly identified as a potential victim.
The street-facing window above the kitchen sink gives me a wonderful view of the street. Some of those who take regular walks around our small neighborhood are using what looks like Apple’s Air Pods. Most who have technology accompanying them are holding a cell phone in front of them while walking. Maybe it’s just me, but the ones that bother me are those pushing baby carriages. I think they should be talking to their little passenger – in a normal, conversational voice – I’m not a fan of baby talk. Fortunately there are many who walk and talk with family and friends :-)

Carefully. And with a lot less finger motion.

I used to read while biking. No accidents, but having to stop every couple of hundred feet to turn the page got to be a drag.

You probably don’t know how people can read a book — period.

I read on the dreadmill every morning, it makes the 20 minutes fly by, a book and ear-pods for some music.

I guess we see a speech bubble because cartoonists have yet to show a realistic text bubble. One can be 100% sure that she texted that to her partner.

Back in the 1990s, I would read Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Bobsey Twins, and Star Trek while walking to/from school.
My 7 min walk turned into 15 for elementary school. My 20 minute walk to secondary school, turned into about an hour. haha

I’ll be glad when I have the chip implanted and won’t have to waste time looking at the screen.
