How could you bear sitting through 3¼ hours of blather and commercials to get ¼ hour of action without being tanked?

Sports just isn’t the same without beer ads, somehow. I can see the mid-50s when there were always beer ads on “The Gillette Saturday night fights”. Or even the World Series Baseball games.

Mel Allen plugging (and drinking) Ballantine beer was a major part of 50s baseball.

“…not doing anything to promote alcohol consumption.” But gambling is just fine.

Hey Hinds, Amazon already exploits empoyees with way below average working conditions and wages as well as a reputation to put profit over employees. Their policy on alcohol is far down the list of grievances.

Anybody watch the Amazon games to verify this?(Read that last night’s game was a stinkeroo, any Broncos buyer remorse? Seahawks 1st rounders are looking better too.)

Excellent. This is like the Nanny crusade to get rid of the Budweiser frogs and lizard, what a bunch of idiots.

Now all you see are ads about the joy of gambling on games… which was ALWAYS taboo… until the leagues began making big money from sharing the illicit profits. Hypocrites!

Interestingly, amazon owns Whole Foods, and you can definitely get an order through them which contains alcohol. AND someone will bring it to your house!

Mr. Commissioner, and owners, please remind us exactly WHY there needs to be an NFL game on a Thursday night. I don’t want to hear that “we care about the players safety EVER coming out of your pie holes!” It’s a money grab, pure and simple.

As for the beer commercials, and those talking about how the gambling commercials are now part of the broadcast, let’s remind everyone that the NFL doesn’t like Las Vegas sponsoring ads during the Super Bowl. Don’t want to associate themselves with gambling. Yeah, right.

If they were watching last nights game, they probably would have drunk MORE beer in the hopes of forgetting it.

Last night’s game was so stupendously boring that I probably could have drunk myself under the table.

That’s fine since most of the country can’t watch the games because they’re on one of the most expensive streaming services that has the least amount of stuff to stream on it. First NFL games I’ve ever missed since NFL Sunday Ticket was launched back in the 2000s. Thankfully, they’ve all stunk to high heavens so I haven’t missed much.

I only watch condensed games now (even just 12 minutes of the Colts-Broncos game was a snoozer) so no commercials from breweries, insurance companies, carmakers, et al. A worthy trade-off, I think, especially since nobody’s making money off of me beyond whatever Roku or Google (YouTube) get for my clicks.

When Amazon execs realized they paid $78 million for Thursday’s affront to football, they drank all the alcohol anyway.
