/// Degas painted Four Jockeys in place,

but they’re clearly not ready to race.

They’re bunched up in this scene,

    on a meadow that’s green,

but in different directions they face.

The one that you need to watch/

Is owned by ie GÊnèrel Foch/

    He’s the rider in blue/

    Who is facing toward you/

    And happily scratching his crotch..

There those who view with disdain/

This “sport” which may cause a horse pain/

    But I think I’d prefer/

    A French jockey’s spur/

To a horn in a bullring in Spain..

It appears as though our steeds have again melded into one another. We are now in possession of TWO horsepower.

    Four Jockeys:

    Paste (including the quote marks)

"Category:Paintings of horse racing by Edgar Degas" Wikimedia

(syntax supported by the Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ecosia, and Brave search engines) in the browser address bar (or search for it using one of those search engines) and choose the first Wikimedia Category: found and once there find the text string 2014, and click its link for info and links that point to more info about this roughly B3 paper size, oil on board painting.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3473 (March 10, 2025) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment and replies pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 16 works by him have been used here (17 times, including a repeat), the July 15, 2024, strip being the prior.
