Brutus, like Rodney Dangerfield, gets no respect.

Maybe Brutus hears you Gladys, but chooses to ignore your irrelevant babbling or insults. You certainly are your Mother’s daughter.

I have been hearing that one for years.

Gladys, I honestly DO NOT know why Brutus married a hag like you. You’re incorrigable and cruel!

Thinking there has got to be some back story here. Maybe they were discussing sending Mother Gargle packing, and while one of them is willing to consider all options, the other one is dead set against it. In any case, not too bright bringing Wilberforce into the discussion.

Not funny and not nice. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in her family, sadly. Bet she makes her mother proud though……

Perhaps if he listened and responded to her like an adult, she would not be so unhappy and end up making a comment like that, which, by the way, should not be directed at their child.
