With his salary I’m betting there are a lot of items that are out of season for them.

Funny how the strawberries are out of season, yet Brutus is able to buy fresh bananas which as far as I know aren’t even grown in a season in the United States.

Should have bought a can of pickled figs. A good strawberry substitute.

At your house? NO.

I should think not.

Four overflowing bags of groceries. Must have set him back his entire paycheck.

Poor Brutus was simply fed up with the ill-humored, obnoxious and surly types shopping at the store while he was there.

I was at the grocery store Friday morning. Practically everyone encountered was that way. I don’t know if it was something in the water, air or what. The parents were bigger brats than the kids. The checkers ringing folks up were so gracious. One particularly so; it prompted me to commend her to the manager.

Brutus needs a fresh brain as his old one is frozen. ;<)

I prefer the frozen ones, in that sweet syrupy liquid

This is exactly why I make sure my wife goes grocery shopping with me!

Oh my. I keep thinking about poor Wilberforce. The gene pool he was born into is devoid of water. Kid doesn’t have a chance.

Paper grocery bags. I rued the day when they were replaced by plastic ones. Glad to have them back.

I doubt it… but it sure would be interesting if it was. :J

Frozen Strawberry shortcake and ice cream always in season. Nice substitute.

However, In Brutus’ defense are frozen strawberries fresh……..

Thank God yes they are. It looks as though Brutus only uses fresh fruit and vegetables when he cooks. A very admirable trait…..

No matter the strawberry, they won’t be fresh after she’s finished, they’d be rude.

Brutus maybe needs a few more trips to the grocery store to understand how it’s done. Women aren’t born with a program in their brains so that they instinctively know what foods are healthy and how to cook them.

Try the same thing using Colorado Peaches. You won’t go back to Strawberry Shortcake.

Gladys I’ll bet this isn’t the first time you have wondered why you said yes to Brutus.

“Gladys” Brutus continues, “I keep telling you, put alternatives on the list too”… (Been there, done that Chip)…

Brutus, is Brutus. She needs to be very explicit…“If you can’t find fresh, get frozen!”

Very clever Brutus. Gladys won’t send you shopping again.

His next question will be, “which aisle are they in?” followed by, “any tips about checking for freshness?”
