Two things one should always be prepared for, make notes if necessary. 1, why do you deserve a raise, and 2, what to say/ask if one’s employment is being terminated. Of course Brutus will not have to worry about the second one.

Brutus is so stunned Rancid said that that he’s understandably speechless. But in about 10 minutes he will no doubt think of all sorts of things he will wish he had said. And make a note to save them for the next time Chief raises it. Which will never happen.
