Hoo boy. It’s tough embarrassing yourself in front of your kid. Next time look for the leaves that resemble the ones on the front of the Toronto Maple Leafs jersey n
President Abe Lincoln said he walked slow but didn’t walk backwards. Don’t walk behind Brutus. Maybe Brutus knows something the rest of the world has missed? Oak tree syrup is very very dry, invisible and sugar free. Enjoy. “Imagine” that (JOHN LENNON). Spot on.
A friend, in Geauga County, taps trees in the surrounding neighborhoods, and has a place to make maple syrup. He calls it the Sugar Shack! Yum! How sweet it is! ☺️
We had a maple tree in our side yard when I was growing up, and Mom would tap the tree every few years. We’d make maple taffy or syrup out of it. So good!
Whatever you do, don’t ever think of buying a dairy and milking your own fresh milk. Heaven only knows what you will buy and what hospital you will end up at….
And it only works on certain Maple Trees, Sugar Maple to be precise. Tap the Red Maples on my Alma Mater’s campus, and you wouldn’t get a drop of maple syrup.

That could have everything to do with it.

Oak milk makes you strong! – Oak milk is what my kid brother used to call oatmeal.

From the size of that bucket it looks like they’re planning to share one pancake.

Poor Brutus. Well intentioned but uninformed.

Forestry students at the university I attended had to be able to identify trees by their bark, leaves and fruit. Brutus opted for another major.

Wilbur knows the tree types? Good for him. Many kids today know all about things technical, but not natural.

You can make a syrup from any tree’s sap. The flavor of the product varies somewhat. I’ve had locust and hickory syrup but maple is still my favorite.

They cut down the maples across the street which used to be so pretty in the fall. I have several oaks.
