Finally able to get my hair cut today. I look so much better to both myself and others.

I believe in being polite. I’ll gladly allow others to go before me, wait a few weeks, and see how things turn out.

I wonder if other countries make haircuts and manicures the biggest drama in a pandemic. Granted, I cut my own hair, but geez.

    Almost cut my hair

    Happened just the other day

    It’s gettin’ kind of long

I could’ve said it was in my way

    But I didn’t and I wonder why

I feel like letting my freak flag fly

And I feel like I owe it, to someone, yeah

Must be because I had the flu this Christmas

And I’m not feeling up to par

    And increases my paranoia

Like looking in my mirror and seeing a police car

I’ve learned to cut my own hair during this crisis. and it’s worked out really well. But then, it’s easier when you’re a man and just keep it short. A friend of mine has been having his wife cut his hair for years. Short and simple. But it doesn’t work in reverse. She’s not going to trust him with her hair.

Even Great Clips and Sport Clips locations? For me, when my local state when into a phase reopening on Memorial Day weekend I got my haircut finally (with face mask on) for $20 at a local barber shop!

I’m not concerned about a manicure; I really need a pedicure. I can still reach my own fingers, but my feet – not so much.

It’s crazy how things move so fast today, things change on an almost daily basis. It’s so hard for mainstream cartoonists to keep up with two-week prior submission.

I can cut my own hair but it’s easy for me because it’s a medium length and layered. Once I curl it, you can’t tel that it wasn’t done by a professional. That’s not to say I wasn’t glad why my place opened, because I was. I was there yesterday and we had to sign a form about being healthy and every was masked up. They’ve limited the number of clients per session, too. My husband was thrilled when his barber reopened. He’s retired Navy and still keeps his ‘high and tight’ cut. It drives him nuts when it gets longer and shaggy. I offered to cut it but he declined. I live in a state where it was never really closed down. Masks have never been required – only encouraged. The only places that closed down were salons, barbers, hotels, restaurants and the national chains like Kohls. And even the barbers and salons were allowed to stay open if they wanted to. And, there were some that did stay open. I sure wasn’t going because I trust nobody by me to keep me safe. There have been zero deaths here and only 3 confirmed cases. That being said, I live way down in the southern part of Utah. The numbers are drastically different in the northern/Salt Lake City part and I lay those deaths and cases squarely at the governors’ feet because he refuse to close the state.

    Getting off my soapbox now.

Fingernails at risk by track, I don’t think so. I suppose the Salon might glue on new falsies after tearing out the old ones, like a POW interrogator.

For those of us in the stricter quarantined states, we’ll just have to watch the event on TV.

Best to do your own nails, ladies! Not worth the risk!

The lovely lady who cuts my hair has lots of fragile elderly customers so, even though I’ve been as strict as I can be with quarantine, I won’t risk her or them to get my hair cut. I’ve also almost convinced myself that my Einstein’s crazy sister hair do looks great.

I got to see my stylist Monday (first time since January; the shutdown happened 3 days before my March appt.) She was able to neaten up my self-chopped “Quarantine Coif” but told me I did a good job :-) And she fixed my caterpillar eyebrows, which I CAN’T do myself.

The day I value a haircut or anything similarly petty and vain over my life is the day…well, let’s just say it ain’t happening.
