honestly I am delighted that my grown kids wear super hero pj’s when they come to visit. Life is too short not to laugh. If I ever had to wear office clothes I’d have to go shopping. Nothing in my closet would be professional enough.
I spend most of the day reading the comics. Am I supposed to be ashamed of myself? Ain’t gonna happen. Meanwhile, my clothes are slowly transitioning from business casual to retired casual.
I am of, or close to, Frank’s age, and I agree with a lot of that.
But suits & “adult” shoes? Naw. I had many occupations over my working life; some of them I hated, a few I loved – but, I am proud to say, none of them required me to don businesswear. Neckties cut off the oxygen to your brain, don’t ya know?
I think this all began in the 60’s and 70’s. They didn’t want to become “the establishment” so they continue to dress as the young generation. Basically, they are in denial about their new role.
Ok Frank. Check out me. I am 62. I don’t play sports, I like Superman and X-Men (never read a comic book), don’t have any heroes, never wore a suit and I wear sneakers and slippers.

Hey – Frank should know that some of those “grown-ups” are getting pensions by now.

I still play tag. Although these days, it’s with the remote control. And everybody wants to be “it”.

Speaking of “adult” shoes, what are those guys wearing? I guess the days of wingtips are gone.

Today you have to be an adult to be able to afford a childhood…

Nothing that new, really. Bill Griffith in Zippy long ago lamented the “kidult” trend.
