    Perhaps Americans weren’t the models.

Actually, it’s the opposite. The sizes are now “vanity” sizes. What is now an 6 would have been a 10 in the 1950s. I know….have tried on vintage clothing. I also know when a size 2 fits. That would be impossible a few decades ago.

Forget it, Frank. Nobody’s buying it. You’re fat.

Nope! Every manufacturer has different standards for what constitutes which sizes. That’s why people have favorite jeans, to name just one; the manufacturer’s size ideals fit the person’s size!

While we’re talking about weight, have you noticed how imprecise modern digital scales are? I weigh myself several times every morning before my shower and notice that the weights often vary by a couple of pounds. Please tell me I’m not gaining or losing a pound or more brushing my teeth, shaving ect…

I purchased some underwear a while back, two different brands. The “American” Mediums were larger than the “European” Large. Both were made in China, hence the quotes.

I agree that clothing manufactures are cutting the clothing a bit larger now. I purchase the same brand and size of jeans year after year. My jeans from a year or two ago are tighter but the same brand and size jeans purchased now are bigger. I blame it on COVID but thank the mfg. for not making us feel bad about ourselves…

My father in law has been on this crazy/strict diet for the past several years and lost 30+ pounds, so all his clothes are too big. Pretty impressive for someone in their mid 80’s.
