Taxes are the rent we pay to live in this great country. (Yes, I know, the country needs some fixing up, but it’s still better than most and has lots of potential.)
It’s MUCH better to pay for private jets, country club memberships, giant mansions, 3-martini lunches through inflated consumer prices than to (gasp!) support our roadways, water and sewer networks, military, police, firemen, teachers, etc. on (choke!) TAXES!!!! /s (for the dense ones)
Everybody moans and moans – but I don’t see many turning down government services like, roads, schools, safe drinking water, emergency assistance from storms, etc. So, it all rings a little hollow. Yes, I know that list is a mixture of government services at all levels, not just Federal, but we pay taxes to them all.
A Flat Tax would correct the problem. Everybody needs to pay something. Living in this Country should not be free. I’m not sure what the percentage should be, but every body needs to pay a flat tax on gross income…..NO DEDUCTIONS.
