With exception of the Chinese Balloon these last 3 objects are not balloons but we have little to no idea what they’ve shot down. I swear if they shot E.T. down there will be major repercussions
A long time ago, a few days after Ike had his first heart attack in office, a man went into a coma. He woke up in 1970. His first words were, “How’s President Eisenhower doing?” His doctor replied, “I’m sorry, but President Eisenhower has passed away.” “Oh, my god!!” he exclaimed, “that means Nixon is president!!”
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.
I am having a great time reading all the stories on my various feeds. For one thing, the three objects shoot down have NOT been described as balloons, but unpiloted aircraft. Are they people’s drones? Science experiments? Mirages(the optical illusion, not the French aircraft)? ET? And if they are any of those things, will the government tell us?
My favorite, so far, comes from “Giant Freaking Robot” (yes you read that right it is a news feed). They claim that three F-16s went out to get the UFO over Lake Huron, but only one came back, damaged. Consider the source, but last night I watched Spielberg’s version of “War of the Worlds”, so…
Stop using “so” as a word whisker. It means “as a result of” and is inane and brainless in the examples above, which are practically universal among a certain segment these days. (Not directed at you, Mr. Carroll, as this is an exercise in inanity.)
Yeah, I agree with the premise that a press conference with next to no information released is sort of a waste of everyone’s time. Doing so may in fact, just support nonsense theories about what these unidentified objects were. Whether on the right or left, I think we can all agree that it was probably not Santa that was shot down.

That’s smarter and more coherent than almost all political press conferences.

I love how it is being called an “object”.
If it isn’t a balloon, or a plane, what is it? A kite?

Call it low tech Target Practice , I do think that 20mm. Gun Is more cost effective than a Aim9 -X missle ( Sidewinder )

If the latest three are balloons then my money is on a North American invasion by the Macy’s parade.

Radish’s comment above made me think of the great 1951 movie The Day the Earth Stood Still. Still one of the best SF films ever.
And here is a quote from it that goes well with the cartoon:
Reporter: I suppose you are just as scared as the rest of us.
Klaatu: In a different way, perhaps. I am fearful when I see people substituting fear for reason.
A dearth of information and an over abundance of misinformation feed fear today, more than ever.

Wonder if either covfefe or hamburders are powerful enough to shoot down spy balloons…..

Brian Carroll would obviously prefer a briefing from a typical lying DJT press secretary.
