I love Bigfoot peeping out, looking for paparazzi ;-)

I wonder if Dad is a bit dyslexic? That might be one factor in his choice of occupation.

Everybody’s thinking about something including all the critters. What are you thinking about?

I’m with the mom here. I love going in the wood looking for birds.

Dad: “Dash it all, why can’t the trail be a straight line for once?”

Every creature in its own world. The owl has a Sterling-like unibrow. Is that a camera to the left of mom’s head, or the bubble of something behind the tree?

Theres a lot going on here.

Why did Henry draw me inside a tree?

It’s more than a comic strip. It’s a game, a puzzle, a logic exercise, a story, a visual poem, a series of character sketches, a love letter to the natural world, a hymn. Lots to see but more than meets the eye. Requires thinks. Engaging in that the reader has to intentionally interact with the art to grasp the parts and glimpse the whole.

Maybe I should add that I love it?

All of us are searching for something. If it’s good for us, may we all find it and have a camera to prove it like bigfoot wanted…..

Better let mom have a look at the map if they’re ever getting out of there.

Obviously Spud has wandered off, fallen in a hole (probably an abandoned sasquatch lair) and will never be heard from again!
