    The attempt to reach the top of Everest will fail. No attempt succeeded until 1953. That was also the year that Queen Elizabeth II was crowned after succeeding her father George VI the previous year. It was also the year that the first James Bond book “Casino Royale” was published. “Casino Royale” was adapted for TV as early as 1954 and became a spoof Bond movie starring David Niven and Peter Sellers in 1967 before it became an official Bond movie in 2006.
