I had a short sled that you would run and dive on to it. Had to Google it but it was Flexible Flyer. If I did something like that today it would be last thing I ever did.
Many years ago when my daughter was about 15, she made some smart comment about how I was old and slow. Male pride kicked in and I said, “I’ll race you!!” So the three of us went to the local school to conduct the sprint. One the way there the Mrs said “Are you sure this is a good idea?” My response was roughly “Harumph! Harumph!” We set up a 50 yrd course, and when Mom yelled “Go,” my daughter was off like a shot. Then she turned around and finished the course running backwards and STILL beat me. While the young one was doing her victory dance, the Mrs said, “I tried to warn you.” Me: “Harumph, Harump.” So I had to buy ice cream cones all around. To this day it is still one of my most cherished memories.

Now you live with an invalid, probably with a bad temper and some magical powers.

Child in mind. Old man in body.
(Sometimes the body just can’t quite keep up with the mind.)

Berke Breathed was fond of saying that it’s never too late to have a happy childhood.
I think we now see the error of his line of thought.

Isn’t Wizard supposedly centuries old? I figure he’s really good at making his body indestructible using spells.
