This week wasn’t bad….last week was a “bear”!

Most of us rather clearly remember 2007-2008, with the flop caused by the sub-prime mortgage prices.

A co-worker had an even uglier time as his home mortgage became “securitized.” The bank he originally went to for his mortgage packaged it into a large security (essentially a compound asset) and sold it in pieces to a vast number of banks. That made it extraordinarily difficult to refinance because no one creditor could sell the existing one.

China just raised the prices on lithium and fentanyl.

Every day is a bad day for somebody.

Everything is plummeting. Enough said.

My mother believed in investing in the stack market but not using the products or services. No matter how bad times are, adults will scrape up a few dollars for a pack of cigarettes and a bottle or can of beer. Investing in breweries and cigarette factories can get you profits.

Those who get their economic news from political candidates might be surprised to learn the Dow is up almost 10% this year. NASDAQ is up almost 20%.

Alcoholism is up in Id.

Oddly, often the stock market does not always reflect the real economy.
