In the 1960s, gasoline typically sold for between 30 and 35 cents per gallon.

When we had the gas shortage in the 70’s (I think too long ago to remember exactly). I had a VW Bug. It had a 10 gallon tank & very good on fuel, There was a $ limit on gas, so the attendant (yes it was back before everything was self service) to fill it up, he replied I could only get so much. I told hi the tank would be full before that amount & it was with money to spare.

I truly do believe that we in Michigan will never see gas less than 3 $ a gallon . They ( who ever they are ) have us in a bind for sure : (

Getting gas this morning,I noticed the person before me on pump 3 bought $10.00 worth.where the heck were they going? To pump 4?

Monday the gas price has went up again. regular gas in the U.S. reached $4.42 per gallon. Diesel prices also hit a record $5.56 per gallon. AV-gas 100LL $6.99 Jet-A $7.21.

well, maybe people will plan their trips to stores better instead of driving around and wasting gas. Or the government could stop handing out free money and give everyone an electric car. they are reasons they still make gas ones you know.

I recall when you could pull into a station with about 1/4 tank and get a fillup for less than a gallon costs now.

Democrats think high gas prices will spur people to change to electric cars. They live in a dream world. The power grid can’t support that many electric cars. There are already rolling blackouts in California. Plus, the morons don’t know where electricity comes from. COAL! Nuclear! There are not enough solar panels and windmills in the world to generate enough power. Not to mention that someone who can’t afford $7 gas doesn’t have the money to go buy a new car.

I have a plug-in hybrid. The last time I bought gas was St Patrick’s Day. The Mrs. has an electric and we have solar panels.

My first job was pumping gas. Even at less than a dollar, back then MPG was lower. There was a young lady who would come in all the time and get $5 in her Camaro convertible, then tip $1. I wondered why she didn’t just get $20 once a week. A couple of times I just pumped $6, because I figured she needed it more than I did.

Funny thing is, I own an oil/gas well and my income from it doesn’t change year to year. Production doesn’t either. Indicates to me this whole thing is a sham by big oil who are scoring record profits. Bend over and take it and don’t expect a cigarette after.

Perhaps it’s time for Ziggy to get a bicycle, only if his feet could reach the pedals.

Doesn’t anyone know why the price of gas is thru the roof?? IT IS BIDEN, he shut down the drilling and transporting oil as soon as he took office, think Keystone pipeline, too many regulations, and too much uncertainty, Biden’s fault all around.

I don’t see what you Yanks are complaining about. Gas is north of $8 / US gal in Canada.

$10 worth should get him to next gas station.

I remember as a boy being with Dad driving us out in remote country in his Volkswagen Beetle. He had thought there was extra gas in that flip-over emergency supply but Mom had already used it and not flipped the lever back over. When we ran out of gas, Dad had to negotiate with a farmer to buy a cup of gas from him, so we could get back to town. I think he charged a dollar and Dad paid without question. He had grown up on a farm.

When I was about 9 years old, we ran out of lawnmower gasoline. Mom gave me a dime to buy some more.

Only in America do people sit with their cars running in the line to the drive-up window at Starbucks waiting to pay 5 dollars for a cup of coffee while complaining about $4 per gallon gasoline.

Say what you will about Trump, but gas prices WERE lower under him than they are under Biden.

And a funnel, too!
