Lately it seems our own huge are holding on longer as well. I feel as though the stresses of our employment instability, this damn virus, deaths of friends, The political uproar, and an inability to sleep well, etc all seem to magnify the need for hugs. While in my wife’s arms it actually feels as if all the worries, concerns and toxins are somehow drawn out of me, Lord I hope they aren’t adding to hers.
My heart goes out to all of those who, during this time of physical distancing and staying away from loved ones to keep them safe, have no one to hug. Hugging is important to our well-being (IMHO), and hugging a pillow just isn’t the same.
I love those long, loving hugs. The whole world stops and there’s only this tender moment, floating, nothing but the arms of your loved one around you and the feel of him against you. Dratted cat always tries to make me fall if we take too long at it.
Strips like this remind me of how sweet this couple truly are. I’m so glad the artist includes some moments of tenderness—we could ALL use an Arlo hug about now!

Surprised they didn’t both hug together toward the bedroom to continue the “hugging”

This looks like my husband and me. Free hugs no waiting.

I guess it takes more than one hug a day to keep the chores away.

never take for granted the hug you get from a loved one / someone special to you because someday they will only be a memory.

This is so sweet. Hugs always make the day go better whether you get anything done or not.

It’s a good thing he found her. No one else would put up with him.

A Wise man once told me that it is amazing what a man can get away with by just one good hug.

Get them while you can.

If Arlo was a prankster, this would be the time to mention his discovery of head lice.

I have to add to their hugging technique, though: some back scratching at the same time feels great.

Two arms out – “firm embrace” (Mel Brooks in “Mad About You”) is all that is needed here.
