In our house the “other remote” is for the gas fireplace. Beats having to grab a blanket!

My parents have 4 TV remotes and I’m trying to figure out what they do.

    I’m remote learning.

I named my TV remote Waldo.

    For obvious reasons.

Just to keep things exciting, I’ve kept the remotes for old equipment that has been recycled.

And all the remotes are kept by my wife’s seat because I don’t watch TV.

A friend had 4 remotes and the best entertainment of the night would be watching him trying to turn on the TV. He had a remote for the set, the cable and the sound system. I have no clue what the fourth one was for. it would take him about 20 minutes of fumbling to get it all working.

I tried the streaming thing and never could get it to work properly, even though I have 1Gbs Internet speed, it buffered constantly…We went back to a box and have been happy since.

I hate when I reach for the Roku remote, instead of the smart TV remote, and accidentally switch the streaming platform.

We have to be careful to keep the remote away from the dog. If she gets ahold of it and no one notices, it’ll be destroyed or hidden where it wont be found.

Our air cleaner and my wife’s space heater use the same remote commands, so they can’t be in the same room.

My wife speeds through the show choices so quickly I don’t know how she chooses what we watch. I’m usually happy to watch whatever she chooses unless it’s one of the “reality” shows about obese people or hoarders.

Just got a new with the ROKU installed. That’s one less remote. And then, to make it interesting, when I turn the power on the sound bar, it turns on the TV as well.

It’s a shame the majority of people alive today don’t know the “joy” of fiddling with the horizontal or vertical hold dials.

You can’t even change the station without a remote. They hide those buttons underneath the bottom somewhere.

You need grandchildren around the place. You’ll be watching all over for signs of where the assorted remotes are hiding.

There are omni-remote-apps for your smartphone. It needs an IR-port of course. Even today quite some of the cheap models still have them.

They usually come pre-equipped with a ton of remotes codes. Can’t count how often I used it in bars an inns to turn down the volume of the stereos and especially TVs blaring in the room rendering chatting completely useless.

It’s interesting how old TVs had both picture and sound but now one must pay extra for pictures AND sound that is any clearer than someone being smothered.

Y’all need a Harmony universal remote. It takes some setting up but is pretty intuitive and once you’re done, one remote does it all. There are other brands out there too.
