At age 6-7 not to worry as your mind will change many times. There’s kids in college that still don’t know what they want to be and spending a lot of money in the process.
I don’t know how many can say this, but I know the exact incident that helped me decide. I was looking though our Library for something to read and I came upon a textbook my Dad had used for a College Class his work sent him to. It was called “Introduction to Data Processing”. I was fascinated by it and, when it came time to select a Career Course in College, I chose Computer Science. That afternoon book browse changed my life in a major way…
I’m in my 60’s and I still haven’t figured out what I want to be when I grow up! In the mean time, there’s a park down the street and I find myself enjoying the slide periodically. I wait in line for my turn,

Hammie, you have time to figure it out. Until then just remember, never sweat the petty things and never pet the sweaty things.

Hammie, banish that thought!
You are way too young to know that word about your heart…

Better go with your gut then, and enjoy your childhood while you have one.
