I order car/truck parts when I remember or when I have the funds. Then I place them on shelves in the barn. They are there when I need them or when I have free time. My projects are not as involved as Baldo’s project. All of mine run. LOL
That’s what happens when a major online auto parts store ships FedEx instead of handing it off to DHL when you pay for USPS. It took me a week for a part to arrive in suburban Philadelphia from Schenectady, NY when I ordered USPS delivery. DHL sat on it for 4 days! FedEx had a larger part here from the Bronx in just 2 days!!
I"ve been there with some packages. While I don’t avoid opening it to up the anticipation as I"m WAY too impatient for that, i’ll often be shocked when something comes WAY earlier than I expected. I ordered a yugioh card about two days ago and got it yesterday.
Relive the ‘good old days’. Wait two weeks, and then find out it is the wrong item. (That might have just been with cereal box toys, and me being six years old.)
I learned some decades ago not to anticipate anything pleasant. It will not be right. Unpleasant things though need to be anticipated so they can be dealt with.

No Baldo you need to go ahead and open the box. They may have sent you the wrong part.

Sometimes I do the same with clothing purchases, but I’m not sure if I put off out of anticipation or dread.

Well, it’s good that Baldo’s finally starting to make an effort towards rebuilding that Impala. The next thing he should get is a repair guide.

Get something to eat and put Heinz ketchup on it. (For those who remember the commercials…)

Be careful, Baldo: you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.

When was Baldo expecting the part to arrive? Next month?
