Oh, so it is a teacher that is pointing it out that he is wearing a woman’s sweater and also making an assumption about Baldo’s choices.

I am all for allowing people to make their own choices but he should keep his opinion to himself instead of making Baldo the center of attention when he probably doesn’t want that.

I’d be surprised if Baldo actually knows (let alone understands) what “non-binary” is.

That teacher should be arrested. This is high school.

Fun (tangentially related) Fact: James Hetfield of Metallica wore women’s stretch jeans on stage for years, because the particular style he favored had been discontinued in men’s sizes. Apparently, the biggest available women’s size of the same style jeans was just big enough to fit him.

Bad enough the poor guy is wearing an old lady sweater, do they need to embarrass him any more?

First of all, no actual teacher would do this. Second, when did wearing a cardigan — even if it’s an old lady cardigan — become a sign of solidarity with non-binary people? Outside of this comic, I haven’t heard anything about it.

People make assumptions about a lot of things. Peter, Paul and Mary’s “Puff the Magic Dragon” a lot of people thought it was about drugs and the group had to point it out that it was simply about a little boy and a dragon.

Why is this “obviously” an old ladies sweater? Asking for a 71F

Do high school girls still wear a boyfriends letter sweater?

Now Baldo is totally confused. He simply thought he was wearing a cool sweater.

Why does the teacher even need to interject this in his class? That’s the whole problem with the education system today, in a nutshell: injecting woke political beliefs instead of educating.

I don’t read this comic for political views. I read it because it depicts a sweet, goofy teen living his life and trying to get along, just like the rest of us. LEAVE THE WOKE CRAP OUT OF IT OR I AM OUT OF HERE!

And of course the teacher is stereotypical white Casper milquetoast.

    He’s wearing a cardigan with a cool indigenous-inspired print (love it!). ???

I assume it will be explained why others are depicted as interpreting his cool sweater as a “statement;” it’s unfortunate people are insinuating it is, based on what — a unique fashion choice? People should not be afraid to wear what they like, for fear of being judged (as long as it’s not too risqué for the situation/dress code).

Reminds me of an old “Leave it to Beaver” episode where Beaver pestered his mother to buy him a particular sweater he really wanted. She bought it and the first day he wore it to school fellow student Judy wore one just like it and Beaver was teased for wearing a “girls sweater.” He never wore it again.

Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short

Wear shirts and boots ‘cause it’s okay to be a boy

But for a boy to look like a girl is degrading

’Cause you think that being a girl is degrading

This whole time I thought the joke was that he was unknowingly supporting native ancestral tribes who once lived on the land. I suppose they could have been non-binary too.
