My cousin raises chickens. She has a name for every one of them (there are about 2-3 dozen). She can tell you which hen laid which egg. We don’t question her on this talent.

It’s a mystery to me. And what does egg color have to do with anything?

We eat brown eggs and I NEVER feel the urge to sit in the middle of a field with only a loin cloth and with animals surrounding me. Of course, I live in Florida, and you’d be INSANE to do this. . .

It has always been funny to me how some people will only eat brown eggs. You take white egg layers and brown egg layers, feed them the same feed and the eggs will taste the same. I grew up eating both brown and white eggs from our chickens, (still do, I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of cartons of store bought eggs we’ve bought in 58 years). The trick for the best eggs is what is now called “free range” as well as good quality feed.

OK, we have brown eggs at our house – I don’t get the joke.

At my local Stop & Shop the brown eggs cost more than the white ones. Do people fall for this??

Seems like the joke is backwards…he once bought white eggs before he got on the macro -diet kick?

The eggs are the same. Only the shell is different.

Just the egg shell. White, orange, yellow, blue, green and brown.

Brown hens’ eggs are the norm here in the UK – I haven’t seen a white hen’s egg in a shop here since the 1960s.

One time buy white eggs, and the next time buy brown eggs. (Or brown then white) Easy to keep track of the older egg if you go to the market before you use them all.

I don’t get it.
