I swear, I’ve followed this strip for perhaps five decades, and this is the FIRST time I remember seeing this bird having a name…………………
I’ve seen John completely exit his shell before. So why didn’t he just climb out the front hole, stand up, and flip his shell back over? I don’t recall seeing the bird’s name before. I do however, remember when “He” was considered to be a “she”. “She” once had a fling with a male pelican, and “she” was referred to as John’s girlfriend.
