What a stretch of the imagination! Where’d he get a hammer & saw?

Come to think of it, the wooden planks.

    And the window glass…

    And the door knob.

    and….oh, never mind.

    “See? No leaks.”

No building standards either. Vertical siding on one side and horizontal siding on the other? ;-)

Mother Nature sometimes plays pranks on civilization. That’s why there were stone castles.

“BC” is one of the few zombie comics that is actually entertaining. (“The Wizard of Id” is another example.) Most of the ones I read are pretty much for the nostalgia, with occasional humor. Nobody beats the original creators, of course.

My parents built a house out on 24 acres. House sat at the top of a hill. Every time it stormed, my elkhound would move away from the house and sit near the tree line watching the house. Always wondered what he knew that we didn’t.

As the house keeps burning gather some of the smaller wood and bring them in the cave then when the fire is small enough bring it in the cave and be warm if the thunderstorm does not let up.

I have seen some of those caves with a moveable stone door. Really, the only improvement would be the window.
