A stick by any other name would taste just a sweet

The salt makes the stick taste better.

The dog does not care about what kind of wood it is . Dogs just want to run and play which = Fun ;-)

He & the dog are also part of the ecosystem.

Yep, modern American education on display. A piece of driftwood, notice the last part of the word is WOOD, isn’t a stick.

It’s a stick. For some dogs it’s very valuable and must be carried around and protected.

My exuberant, over-achieving Aussie Cattle dog mix would grab big ol’ tree branches and take off with them…until one end or the other hit something, followed by a loud ki-yi yelp!
