Every drug dealer I have known says that interdiction is just the price of doing business. There’s always product and there’s always customers. Jabba the Hutt wanting Han Solo hit because he dropped a shipment is nonsense.
And just to tie the current buffoon’s lies into today’s comic: Almost 99% of the fentanyl interdicted entering the US (and thus almost 99% of what makes it in) is in the possession of Caucasian native-born US citizens.
And then, oddly, the seized product disappeared as that Fed on the right was transporting it to evidence lockup. Completely coincidentally, he now sports a luxurious mane of hair.
Riddle me this: Why does the drug war continue?Answer: Because it’s profitable for everybody with power.
The narcos get to sell a dangerous, unregulated, un-taxed product with only minimal interference from the authorities.
The authorities get huge pools of taxpayer money to “combat” the problem, when really all they do is interdict a fraction of the contraband while looking tough on TV. Job security.
Politicians get to perennially campaign on a “drug war” they have so far been unable to win.
Companies and corporations make money selling equipment and services to the prison-industrial complex. HMOs can charge exorbitant rates for rehab.
Everybody profts. Everbody wins.Everybody except the people.

Somewhere in Albuquerque, a High School Chemistry teacher is working on refining cat sweat until it’s blue. The cops don’t know what they’re in for.

The 70s era interdiction of weed at the Tex Mex border got the weed but let through the “brown heroin.” "Brown heroin sales increased.
