Politicians get to perennially campaign on a “drug war” they have so far been unable to win.
Companies and corporations make money selling equipment and services to the prison-industrial complex. HMOs can charge exorbitant rates for rehab.
Everybody profts. Everbody wins.Everybody except the people.
