Sandra Boynton has a new video out called Sandra Boynton’s C.A.T. Yup. It’s all about cats and what they do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJENHesgQP0
Anyone else pondering the philosophical question of what, exactly, the smell of pain is? Is this a modern koan? Is Ms. Dunn secretly a Zen master on top of everything else?
Good morning, and happy Bluesday, orbsters and orbabies. Well, Elvis is nothing if not persistent in his quest to figure out what the plant smells like.
As much as I hate to feed the addiction, those of you who must can Google something called “cats on glass”-a gallery exhibit opening Jan 17 sponsored by Fresh Step which promises to provide plentiful paw prints with that " glass bottom boat" experience- you look up at adoptable kitties walking on a glass coffee table or perhaps a “cat walk”.
It works the other way round, too. I once saw a farm puppy investigating a barn cat for the first time by thrusting his nose at it. What he learned is that cats are sharp, ouch.
Ok, Orbsters, here we go. Please keep all available fingers and paws crossed for me, today it gets real. Colonoscopy tomorrow, to get a feel for what sort of lumps, bumps, and masses are in the neighborhood, then a total abdominal remodel on Thursday. Possible all this fuss is for nothing and I will just have a fun weekend hanging out in the hospital bed and playing with the morphine drip-so there is a bright side :). Will know more by this time next week. I am eligible for retirement (56) so that may be the next chapter. Any good wishes, purrs, etc. gratefully accepted.
I have already received help from kind orbsters yesterday, but was told it was a good idea to repost this message this morning, so here goes: I need the orb’s help again. I literally cannot afford cat food right now. This is what happens when there’s no work due to the holidays. Work is back on, but I won’t be paid until next week. There is money on the way, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
http://www.paypal.me/IloraGarden – ANYTHING (even $5) you can send would help now. If you can’t, purr for me, please (it DOES help!). My family is trying to help, but it’s the bills and everyday expenses that mess things up.
Food is much less of a problem than bills are, and I found that our local shelter gives out free cat food if you can show records of spay/neuter, shots & chip. (Check this out if you are ever in trouble, your local shelters may have this. Bet Freddie Quinn’s place does!)
Thank you for your great kindnesses and uplifting thoughts — they do make a difference. May Bast bless and keep you all.
I read somewhere that hermit crabs have no problem with cacti. Stick a cactus in a cage full of hermit crabs and the’ll pull the needles out with their claws and eat the cactus. (Crabs will eat anything.)

Finally a green house plant to survive catzilla attack?!

Elvis, there are times when persistence does not pay off. What makes you think if you just keep on sniffing it will finally stop biting you?

If Elvis keeps this up Burt will have to implement a 5 second delay to deal with salty language.

Ironically, it’s the reckless Cat of Adventure who is the first to realize that if you leave it alone, it will leave you alone.

If the saying in this universe is “Oh My Cat!”…
shouldn’t the expression here be “Son of a Dog!”?

Lupin delivers the news earnestly, but it is hard to take him very seriously with his nose band-aid making him look so adorable.

Good news: the new plant only attacks when provoked.Bad news: it can be provoked merely by looking at it.
