Cows ARE plant based; that all they eat.

I’ve had a few veggie burgers that rival the meat version.

There are a lot of non-meat ways to get protein, and although I’m no vegetarian, I don’t need to have a vegetable meal trying to taste like meat. If I’m eating vegetables, I want them to taste like vegetables.

There are many cow based plants too. Cow dung is a good fertiliser, ya know.

I used to work for a place that had them in the vending machine. I thought they were good then so did coworkers and I’m not a vegetarian.

The biggest problem with vegetarian eating, is how protein is always soy, or other veg most people don’t like, which you also have to eat way too much of, to get enough protein to meet daily requirements. And, another problem is all the self-righteousness that vegetarians spew. But, I will say I have found some great recipes and have met some non-self-righteous vegetarians.

I find it ironic (moronic?) that if you look down the “plant based” aisle of the frozen foods section that its all pressed into shapes to resemble meat.

Here’s a suggestion, if you need to eat something that looks like meat, if your food is so unpalatable that you have to disguise it as meat just to convince yourself to eat it, then just eat meat!

I don’t know how she did it, but my Mom made soy-burgers that the whole family preferred over the meat version.

I’m a second-hand vegetarian. Cows eat grass & I eat cows. That being said, I also eat veggies – but I wouldn’t want to live on them completely!

I’m holding out for meat-based vegetable substitutes. Turnips made from pork chops? Yes, please!

Rice and beans are both nutritious, inexpensive foods that, when combined, form a complete protein.

That’s why Cajuns are as smart as they are: red beans and rice.

    (okay, okay, crawfish too)

I love black beans, black-bean and basmati burritos, and so on; but I think the off-the-shelf Uncle Ben’s and other white rices are more like white bread. Maybe some would like to comment on that. It would be good to know the truth. (Not that the truth is always present in our comments, but you know…it would be interesting anyway.) Many people groups have rice-based diets and live long, healthy lives.
