I never noticed being more or less wired after drinking soda as a kid. But then, as an adult, I never notice being more or less alert after drinking coffee. Different metabolisms, different results, I guess.
1. ‘Little hard to tell for sure in the ’art’ but hummer wings move in a figure eight. Just sayin. 2. Once on my deck I heard and felt a buzz in one ear, I looked, and a hummer flew away. I always knew I was sweet, but the bird must have been colorblind.
I used to drink cans of lime-flavored seltzer from LaCroix. No sugar, no artificial sweeteners. Found out that the carbon dioxide in the water is bad for your teeth. No such thing as a safe soft drink?
The only way I got pop as a kid was with my allowance. I got 10 cents a week and a bottle of pop was 6 cents, so it was a special treat! My folks NEVER bought soda, or Koolaid. Us kids had to spend our own money if we wanted that stuff. :P

Growing up we only had 7up, white soda and coca cola in the house. Those were in the liquor cabinet. None of us kids were allowed to drink soda.

Anyone remember those two quart torpedo shaped glass Pepsi bottles that exploded if they banged against each other?

Pepsi for me (in moderation). My (late) mother, her siblings’ kids, and even my stepmother are into Dr. Pepper.

I think perhaps the caffeine and sugar intake could explain a lot of Calvin’s antics.

Never liked soda pop, even as a kid. It was either strawberry milk or Kool-aid for me.

The sodas are a nice complement to Calvin’s breakfast of Choco-Sugar Bombs (my recollection). Mom needs to get those insulin syringes ready to go.
