This is pretty close to reality for me. Everyone in my house gets up at 9 or 10, so Iāve started getting up at 6 or 7 to have some alone time before everyone comes down
Oh lorā, this was my mother. As an insomniac she was usually up by 4 or 5 AM. At 8ā30 sheād be screaming, āCāmon, up and at em, the dayās half over!ā
The battery in my watch died. It canāt be replaced until June 8th because of Covid, so Iām living outside of human time now, between sunrise and sunset. Itās a long day.
Definitely a morning person here. Iām no more fond of work than anyone else, but I function best early. Iād rather have a busy morning and a lazy afternoon than a lazy morning and a busy afternoon. (And if I am lazy in the morning, Iām likely to be lazy all day.)
Dad, do like I used to when a certain member of my family would finally drag himself out of bed: āHe breaches!ā Or āItās alive! Itās alive!ā āŗ
I agree with Calvin, when you become an adult you donāt have weekends you just change jobs. On Saturday I do everything I couldnāt get done during the week. When I was a kid I had chores but most of the day I could do what I wanted.
I, too, suffered from a dad who was a morning person. Getting up early is one thing. Being so smug and cheerful about it to those of us who are night owls is just so danged annoying.
Iām definitely a late to bed, late to rise person by nature. But when I worked in an office trying to be productively creative, I found it very good indeed to get to work before the distractorsā¦ I mean my co-workers :) got there. I could get as much done in the hour before they arrived as I could do in the whole rest of the day.
At least the son is aware of his first name: Calvin! Even if he does not know his last name. And how are the parents going to identify themselves before the US Census Bureau?
