It was considerate of Hobbes to give Calvin a pillow.

why didn’t Calvin think of sleeping outside in the first place? oh, that’s right: parents’ disapproval

Because who else can imagine in the most messed up way possible other than Calvin?

Now he has a roof to sleep on. Before he could water the plants from his window

Maybe he’ll roll off the roof!!!!

He’d slide right off our newly replaced metal roof. Cost us twenty grand. (sigh)

Trying to negotiate with a tiger isn’t your best idea

Hobbes knows best.

Gritty and wet. In the night fogs appear and pajamas become wet.

Trouble is, Dad is too cheap to splurge on an air-conditioner for Calvin’s room!!

At least it’s not the doghouse, Cal.

I was lucky. Hot weather i was sent to sleep outside on a “daybed” on our verandah. Always slept great out there.

I don’t want to alarm you Calvin but try sleeping in July of 2022.

Roofs here are usually flat and up to 8" of concrete, insulating and secure.

Sleep tight ya little pain in the azz. …real, real tight. It’s a long way down.

Lesson number 337: Never complain to a tiger, especially to a tired cranky tiger.

Wow, that’s going to mess up peeing out the window like Calvin did a few months ago. That new structure is in the way.

Complaints get you nowhere. Or maybe somewhere that you don’t want to go.

Cal on a Hot Tin Roof?

When my sister and I were growing up we spent a lot of the summer with our grandparents. When it was really hot, they would spread a tarp over the porch roof, and then a couple blankets and a sheet. My grandmother would sleep on one side and my grandmother on the other, with Lynn and me in the middle. We were up in the trees and above the skeeters, and it was gloriously cool. Mum would have probably had a fit!

Hobbes takes charge… It must Calvin’s dream.

That flying dream is about to get very real.

In times like these, consider yourself lucky to have a roof under your head.

I do have to say, furry cat bodies ARE hot….. especially when they’re ON your chest when you sleep!!…or TRY to sleep!

Do you tell her, Calvin? Any decent parent would then conclude that you needed professional help.
