I’ve read articles about children suffering “burnout” by too many activities crammed into their lives. Susie may be one of them.

I guess I was a Susie. :P

I just checked. This strip was written after Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

It’s not a gender thing. It’s a Calvin thing to put off his homework until bedtime.

Calvin, you should learn some stuff from Suzie.

I always did homework as soon as possible, to get rid of it. I never could sit and review the same stuff over and over, or try to memorise it. It either stuck or it didn’t. Mostly it did, except math. That part of my brain seems to be missing.

I’m the odd one out here. I always did my homework first because I liked doing homework!

The sequel is “The Transgender from Outer Space Who Competed in Women’s Sports”. Very popular with the rainbow crowd.

Calvin would be very surprised when he finds out there are boys who don’t wait until the last minute to do their homework

The piano is an instrument l’d love to have learned. We had one piano in music class and only the teacher was allowed to ‘show off’ on it. Our ‘music’ lesson was more like a history lesson. We copied down the biographies of composers from a blackboard while the ‘teacher’ tinkled away at the Joanna and talked about cricket.

Unbelievable…

Next she’ll be competing against boys in various sports.

I’m surprised that Hobbes is so cynical. I would expect him to be encouraging Calvin to take a note out of Susie‘s book.

Cal’s conclusion has often been expressed by men out of sheer frustration.

Oh, this seems to pull up some memories…and I do not mean ones about behaving like Susie.

We did our homework after supper. The afternoons were for cartoons and/or reruns of Get Smart, The Munsters, etc. while Mom was getting supper ready.

A true alien in that household!!!!

Responsability is the key, dolts.

And she’ even help Mom with the dishes.

Susie, why don’t you grab your homework and keep Susie company?

I play the piano too. Susie’s got a lot going on for a six-year-old.

Given that she’s surely not going to have much fun playing with Calvin, it makes all the sense in the world that she’d do it now that once she gets home she’d be able to pursue leisure activities of her own choosing.

Hobbes, of course, has no experience whatever with children doing their homework in a timely manner.
