How was it a debate when one of the participants refused to answer many of the questions? That show was a lose-lose-lose situation for everyone. Biden-TFG-the voters.
As I said in a post yesterday. Making women sign up to be drafted is fine. However, only after women’s rights are enshrined in law. Equal pay, reproductive healthcare freedom (abortion access, birth control, etc.). Ridiculous to ask women to involuntarily serve the greatest sacrifice to the nation, but treat them like second class citizens with little to no rights.
Restore rights to all, not just special rights for white men, particularly wealthy white men. Vote Democratic up and down the ticket.
One can argue whether or not women should be allowed/required to serve in a combatant role.
Regardless of that, they should be required to register for and be subject to the draft, same as men. Even if it is decided they would not serve as front-line combatants, there are plenty of support and logistics roles that can, and should, be filled by anyone capable.
So what’s wrong with women in the draft? I have several friends and family gals that are in service, of the air force, navy, and army. They can handle it without being in combat.
“… NEW YORK (AP) — The NFL is distancing itself from Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, saying “his views are not those of the NFL as an organization.”
Butker appeared as the commencement speaker last week at Benedictine College, a private Catholic liberal arts school in Kansas, and said most of the women receiving degrees were probably more excited about getting married and having children.
Butker also said some Catholic leaders were “pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America.”
“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Jonathan Beane, NFL senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, said in a statement released Thursday. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”
The three-time Super Bowl champion delivered his roughly 20-minute address Saturday at the school in Atchison, Kansas, which is located about 60 miles (97 kilometers) miles north of Kansas City. He received a standing ovation from graduates and other attendees.
Butker, who’s made his conservative Catholic beliefs well known, also assailed Pride month, a particularly important time for the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and President Joe Biden’s stance on abortion. …" — apnews .com/article/harrison-butker-chiefs-homemaker-nfl-5466d7b3560f640c825107df9694b07b

Timely toon today, Clay. Biden stunk up the debate, Buckner’s speech was a month ago.

Isn’t the issue about mandatory selective service registration of women, not drafting women?

conservatives would take us back to the 1840s, and not just women, but minorities as well.

All trump did during the debate was lie. But that’s all he has ever done anyway and every day.

The NBA draft? Because that’s the only draft I see going on today, or for that matter, for decades.

I’ve said since the early 80’s that women should be drafted if men were. You’re either equal or you aren’t.
