I’ve never been to a high school reunion — that would have been dishonest: it would have implied that I could stand the sight of the place, or ever enjoyed the years there. But next year is my 50-year reunion…I might go just for grins.
Went to my 50th reunion two years ago. There were more then afew greying “seniors” including yours truly !Could not get over that some guys ’n gals really did not look too much different from school.
I heard of one guy who went to his 50th reunion, looked into the room, and headed home. As he said, “Those guys are not my classmates—they’re all OLD!”
Coming up on 50th also, I always looked upon a reunion (This would be the 3rd one) as a series of 5 minute conversations like as if you ran into an old classmate on the street and “caught up”. You are unlikely to “reconnect” to anyone, the few people that you kept in contact with will remain the same.

I’ve never been to a reunion either. i figure too many things in the present and future to worry about, why dwell on the past?
Reunions, as far as I’m concerned, can be summed up in the song Glory Days. It’s like admitting your best years are behind you.

Oh, yes. 50 is coming up soon. I’ve only been to two over the years, but plan to be at this one.

I heard reunions still have those cliques just like they did in high school. If you’re not some bigshot, they all snub you.
