Not over. yet! How can this strip get any better?!!

I’m surprised the GoComics colorist didn’t color the flames coming off of Measles. His coat is on fire after all.Glad to see we are back on schedule today, that 12 hour wait was maddening.

“Hot embers in his face?” Wasn’t it more like his left shoulder in the previous two strips? But you gotta love the classic Tracy pose in panel three!

As I said the other day, this strip is getting better and more Gould-like everyday; and that can only be a good thing

“We hid Jewel out back, where she’s safe”….. Is a childnapping being foreshadowed here???

It looked to me as if Gertie had hit Measles right in the middle of his back. You have to admire someone who can keep going with a severed spine.

Tracy shot Measles in the right forearm. Gertie whacked him in the left shoulder (Measles himself cried out about his shoulder). And Sparkle poured hot coals/ashes/embers on that shoulder at least twice. Then Measles took a dive out the window. Even amped on dope, I doubt he has much fuel left in his tank. In other words, Tracy is assuredly correct: he won’t get far. He may or may not survive. I will trust for now that Jewel really is okay, since Measles seems not to have had any accomplice by the time he got to Sunny Dell Acres.

Another great strip: Measles has had all he can handle of the rough stuff at Sunny Dell Acres. Sparkle starts the cleanup, while Tracy gets busy on his wrist wizard (does everyone have one of those?).

The hot embers cauterized the axe wound.

Good Morning Detectives!Over the weekend, Sparkle made an ash outta Measles, while he and Gertie buried the hatchet (in his shoulder) and Dick comes over and offers him a shot. Sunny Dell hospitality at work over the weekend! But if Measles is using that patch to block the pain, it might be tough to catch him with all that adrenaline pumping.

The “y” is missing from “everyone” in panel three…

I say he grabs Jewel as revenge

i dont like the looks of this for measles… add in all the pain he is going thru right now to the constant migraines and i doubt the patches will help… he’s going to try and score something stronger and i fear that will lead to his death which was foreshadowed in panel one from yesterdays strip

It’s hard to see how Measles could survive all this, but better check the back room to make sure all is well.

Also, I feel this isn’t the end of the story guys! Ms. Gravel & Sparkle might’ve made the mistake of putting Jewel in the back. If Measles kidnaps little Jewell, I hope Moon Maid will be waiting to clean the clock of this “Doped-Up” criminal. Anyway, Death looks like he has his eyes on Measles!

You’re right about the glove continuity – Tracy seems to have put on gloves after making the shot to Measle’s arm! These things happen – I just found a strip from 1955 where Chester Gould had Sam at HQ and on the crime scene at the same time!

What I really don’t understand is why the art looks so different on Sundays something I’ve been noticing for several months.

Sparkle’s face, for example, has smooth, flowing lines in the dailies, but on Sunday she appears choppy and angular. As you pointed out, Tracy’s hand looks angular as well. They say it is the same penciler and inker 7 day a week, but, for some reason, Sunday does not appear as smooth to me.

This is technical stuff – the story and art are generally very good. And, this does remind me, as others have said, of Gould’s material.

To me, it still looks like we are under him looking up.He is coming out the window head first, face down.The knees seem to be bent down.Please notice where his thumbs are.

Can’t help thinking about those drug patches. Wild guess that Measles uses a bunch and dies of an OD.

I don’t see the confusion.Yesterday, he lept through the window, face down, the right arm – holding the gun – in front of him, and his left shoulder on fire.Today we see him falling, right arm (still with the gun) in front, the left shoulder still on fire. He’s still falling face down.I guess the shilouette confused some people into thinking he was falling backwards.

The way things are going for Measles, he’ll try to put out the flames with a bucket of gasoline or try to hide in the back of a truck loaded with fireworks.It’s only Monday, and I’m betting he doesn’t make it to Friday.

I’m with you NightShade. Measels sure knows how to roll snakeyes – no matter what he does. And tsull has his back all the way and he still strikes out! Someone “important” must have put a hex on tsull.

Attitude is off with B.O. visiting plenty of Plenty relatives. That is why Sparkle is visiting her Mom, to keep her company.
