I like this way better than that Cinnamon Knight story line, but I guess the two subplots will intersect at some point? It will be interesting to see whether or how that happens.
Here’s a weird thought I had: like all of the Moon people, Honeymoon has antennae (Her 2 little pony tails HIDE them), can she not use them to find her kind (On Mom’s side)?I figure, even if they can’t actually use them to communicate, they should at least be able to pick up the electronic pulses they shoot out, if there’s another one near. Might we see Honey’s antennae for the first time ever?
I am old enough to remember when Honeymoon was born, and at that time, Gould said that because of her mixed ancestry, she had only two tufts of hair where pure-blooded Moon People have horns.
BUT—Is it possible that Moon horns have developed under Honey’s ponytails in the passing years? Might this be a secret that she has kept from everyone—even from Junior? I do hope that you are right, and that Honeymoon will use her Lunar powers to help solve the “Moon Maid” mystery.
I didn’t much like the “Moon Years” back in my youth, but good things come to those who wait. And I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Nothing good ever came out of those last words honeymoon spoke in panel three! Maybe she’ll enlist CK and BP to help her find her “mom” when she gets back to earth?
Diet has said before that if space coupes had come to earth he would have been the first to know. But how does HE know the moon people haven’t developed stealth technology of their own? I suspect the moon people are on earth and hiding out somewhere in the arctic or antarctic, since they like the cold. A lunar fortress of solitude!
I don’t care how scientifically advanced the Space Coupe is, they still need to breathe when they are inside of it. There must be some sort of oxygen supply, and burning ANYTHING would use up precious oxygen for no good reason. So, Mr.“I have the most advanced technology and nobody is smarter than me Smith” – PUT OUT THAT STINKING CIGAR!!!
Retik made it to Earth without Diet knowing it, and Mysta may have, too. If at least one and perhaps two moon people are here, why should we automatically assume they are the only ones present?
I was devastated when I took my first glance of Moon Valley and saw all the destruction. I thought that Mike was going to have all of the Moon population killed off. After all this build up, that would have been so sad to see. Luckily, they escaped and are still alive. This gives me hope. Now it seems as if Honeymoon is determined to prove that Moon Maid and her grandparents are still alive. THANK you Team Tracy. LONG LIVE MOON MAID!
I just realized that with the “sliding comic book time time-line” the Moon stories would have started to take place in the late 1990’s! (based on honeymoon’s age)
I find poor Honeymoon’s words in panel 3 to be ominous; I hope she doesn’t initiate some reckless quest that gets both her and Tracy (and maybe Diet Smith, too) into a life-theatening situation. If all the Moon People are gone (or dead), we’ll deal with it. On the other hand, I didn’t think Retik was really Selenite, but now that seems far more possible.
I’ve been kind of depressed about the strip the last few days. Reading the comments here have made me feel a bit better about the events of this moon trip. I can’t believe Curtis and Staton would lead us along only to kill off all the moon people. So I’m looking forward to the Moon Maid finale coming up in a few months with more hope. Like dennis sisneros said, LONG LIVE MOON MAID!

Looks like a particularly cloudy day on Earth. lol It should be interesting to see what Honeymoon has in mind.

Not just the picture of Honeymoon. The artwork in Panel 2 is great too!
I wasn’t a real fan of the “Moon Years” back in my youth either, but I’m really interested in this story.

I hope Honeymoon’s right. I would hate after all this to find out Mysta’s a fake, too.

She is and you will. You go, girl! What a great kid. Plenty of good comes from that spirit.

Or the only Moon People on Earth at the moment came in a smaller craft that didn’t get reported as a Moon Coupe.

Where did this come from, anyway? What happened to the “superheroes”?

Here’s an interesting page about the Space Coupe.

Now that I got that off my chest, I can say that the “Moonscape” in panel two is very cool. And Tracy is looking like his classic self today.

The 3rd generation Tracy coming up. That sounds like Honey, and I’m glad to see it.

So we’re going to be watching Dick Tracy try to disprove that a gruesome death occurred? That’s so … backwards.
But I’m lovin’ it.
