I accidentally went to the mall the day after Christmas many years ago. “Never more.”

The nearest mall to me, is pitiful! Half the stores are empty. You wouldn’t want to go there, except for maybe a pretzel that costs as much as a bar cocktail these days.

I haven’t been to a store (or mall) on the day after Christmas in years because those places are absolute madhouses! Why do people DO that, anyhow?!? Pretty much any store in the world that you can think of has an at-least 30-day return policy (Walmart’s is 90!) so why the rush to do it the day after Christmas? That’s just insane if you ask me! If I need to return or exchange something someone gave me, I’ll wait at least a week before I do it so that I don’t get caught up in all that frustrating craziness when I’ve got so many other, more important, things I can be doing with my time that don’t involve standing in long store lines all day! :-/

Shopping on Boxing Day? Not a chance. Time to sit here and catch up on yesterday’s comics. I missed reading yesterday as we spent a lot of time on video chats with my daughters and their partners (one son-in-law and one son-in-common-law). Plus I was actually allowed to help prepare our meal. Cubing the bread for stuffing, cubing the turnip, and pealing the potatoes. Just the fun stuff.

I hope everyone had a fantastic day yesterday and is enjoying today as well. If you really must shop today there are online sales as well. Far safer.

I used to love to take a special trip to the stores for Christmas after I finished all my shopping, just to enjoy the decorations and the spirit. It really didn’t seem appropriate this year.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, despite all.

I once took a job at a store in the mall for 6 months. Made it through Christmas season okay and was one of the few to stay on full time come January – this was back in the 90’s when mall’s actually had stores and customers. Worked a few years and Christmas’ at Walmart too. Those people deserve hazard pay. I volunteered to work 3rd shift to avoid the customers and the managers alike. Now I haven’t been to a Walmart in over a year, nor in a mall since last Jan. Not missing them either. Retailers beware!I am just as big a “retail therapy shopper” as our Beloved Cathy is. Now with Amazon, I can do it from the safety and comfort of my home.

Personally, I try to avoid the malls and big shopping areas, year-round—and even more now, during COVID.

    HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

I haven’t been in a store in over a year…foot surgery in January, started walking in March, just in time for covid to shut everything down. Now I won’t go because people around here are anti-maskers. I would never go on Boxing Day because life is too short for that hassle.
