Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for March 26, 2013
Transcript:
Zonker: I was thinking of hemp farming in California, but now it seems Colorado is the promised land. So that's where I'll start my new life, the way Henry Deutschendorf did when he moved to Colorado... and changed his name to John Denver! Waiter: Cool. Got a new name in mind? Zonker: Kevin Colorado Springs. Waiter: Wow, that is a fresh start!

I wonder why every article or comic that I read is about Colorado, Washington passed the same law.

mrbribery almost 12 years ago
he could change his name to Henry Deutschendorf, and mess with peoples’ minds…

There’s actually a town called ‘Stoner’. It is south of Telluride. BTW, Punkin Center is in Arizona.

There’s a Pumpkin Center in California, too, right outside of Bakersfield.

I think the better advice is to stay out of experimental ultra light aircraft!

Definitely should change to Howzier Aspen.

Definitely not Colorado Springs – those people think the Tea Party is dangerously liberal.

Looks like Oregon may slide it in legislatively, not by ballot. Stay tuned. Zonk could be Gene Eugene.

Remember, Zonk’s Uncle is Duke, who used to live next to John Denver and fire automatic weapons at his property.

“Industrial hemp has little or no THC it is strictly for making paper, clothes, oils even food additives.”
Geez, I can’t imagine that ANYBODY needed that clarification. If Zonker said he was going into “weed farming”, would you have pointed out that he isn’t talking about dandelions? Not all hemp is marijuana, but all marijuana is hemp, and the term has been used for 100 years…

We knew the future was Colorado. Maryland is on the brink of legalizing ‘medical marijuana’, albeit with enough caveats to make it hardly worth the effort.

Yeah, a pot farmer could never be known as “Lord Zonker.”

The Washington vote has been getting Canadians into trouble:…" Since Washington State legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana last November, confused Canadians have been banned from the U.S. for attempting to bring the drug over the border, Blaine, Wash. lawyer Len Saunders said.…“If you get stopped at the port of entry either with a small amount of marijuana or admit to possessing it in the past or using it, you are deemed inadmissible to the U.S.,” Saunders said."……CTV News

Not just CO, Zonker. Don’t forget WA! How about changing your name to Tony Tacoma?

Once again, here’s a Doonesbury man who has to be in his sixties by now, yet looks the same as he did in 1978. No rooster chin? No grey hair? No paunchiness, balding, nothing? Tsk tsk Trudeau.
