I guess the fires that wiped out the Farnworth and Katz films in our place were prevented by the mutagenic plague and apocolypse. Here no films remain. There, hardly any surviving audience. Those guys can’t catch a break.

And, I can kinda understand our canine friend’s demeanor about this whole thing. Sure, the trial is important, but, really, there’s nothing about it that he can do anything to alter its course. So, in the end, only the end matters to him, because only the end will have any sort of branching effect into the trial and out of the trial.

I wonder if his tail wags when he watches those movies ;-)

Ration card.That what he was using.Everyone probably is given just so much.Now I am not backing it but this is what the Communist ideal was in writing. Everyone gets a fair share but given the facts even in Endtown it does not work.There are the well off and the ones just making it.Most are probably like Pup guy. Just getting by.We have seen money around but is it that common among the regular folks. Money may be more nostalgic than practical.This is what may be driving this trial. A NEW commodity to be regulated. An untapped resource that some group wants to control. Banning the commodity would make it very valuable in the underground circuit. A ration card would not even be looked at for purchase. Valuables would be. Gold, silver, shiny stones, deviant sexual behaviors would be the currency acceptable for a BANNED commodity.This scene reminds of the times of WWII combined with the Great Depression. Ration cards. Wanting entertainment not just the facts of what is going on. I remember my dad hearing folks fuss in the movies when they had the news reels about the war going “Get on with the movie”. Hollywood took it to heart and began to spin the news reels to be hurrah and gungho. The only thing lacking here is “Buy Bonds. Support Endtown!”.

Am I the only one who has a creepy feeling that our houndish friend is going to wind up in the thick of it?Cue the rats???

Just like some here in this world. Don’t care what happens as long as it is fun to watch. All the reality shows…most are garbage. But many watch….

Oh, I see now…This is the half-time show before the big game continues.Meanwhile…THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!

“Maybe it’s been 2 weeks since the arrests? That’s actually getting to trial pretty quick.”1. The arrests. Followed by everyone going to the newspapers, and the interview with Wally.2. The newspaper breaks the story regarding the HC within a day or two of the arrests.3. After a week in confinement, the Milk 3 are told about the upcoming trial. They’re also told that it will be in a week.4. After a week, they have 24 hours to select a defender. Presumably the trial starts a couple of days after that.5. Rough count: 2 weeks plus change.It’s quick only because there’s no other cases on the docket…

I think it means the trial itself has been going for two weeks. We have seen snippets. It must have been an ongoing hell for the women.

If there are only twenty movies between two theaters, maybe the next bean-gathering expedition could stop by some old theater somewhere and see if they could turn something else up…

The water drag must have been terrible to over come. I too swam in high school and in YMCA tournaments. 50 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter all sprints. I even shaved my body to decrease resistance mainly my legs and arms. Not hairy chested but still got that off.And I like the Mayhem guy. We had a motto in my unit way before AC/DC did the song.“Dirty Deeds done Dirt Cheap.”Army paid 120 a month for me to toss grenades, shoot and kill all the folks I wanted to. As long as they were the “enemy”.But sleep tight little one. I am the one wandering the roads at night making sure “REAL” bad guys don’t hurt girls like you. When you run from danger I am passing you. Running towards it to throw myself at it to stop it. I am a good guy with a monster contained I rarely let out.
