Well, so much for the theory that Larry just eventually reincarnated back into being a croc!

This is just embarrassing, poor Larry.

So if Larry’s still Jeffy, then who was Zebra talking to yesterday?

Hey wait a minute, Larry was reincarnated as Billy on the island! What madness is this, Pastis!?

So, if Larry is still Jeffy, to which croc was Zeeba Neighba talking two days ago? And how will Larry get back to being Larry? —What Misadventures of Larry-Jeffy may ensue?!

He looks considerably smaller here than in Friday’s strip.

Would love to see Larry’s real parents return; sooooo much more interesting than baby bookie.

All will be explained when we find the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 imprinted on the top of the beer keg.

I’m not sure why this is confusing for everyone. How many crocs have died in this strip? Especially one named Bob, but certainly not exclusively.There are LOTS of crocs in this strip! Pick one! It doesn’t matter who was talking two days ago!

Jeffey, Billy, Larry, reincarnation and desert islands, not to mention talking rats and pigs – now are we really going to insist on metaphysical consistency from Pastis?

I wonder why Jeffy is just more intrinsically funny than Billy. (At least HERE, I mean……very rarely are any of the kids funny in “Family Circus”, although often they are cute. Yes, I admit that I read it every morning!)

Pearls has got to be one of the most brilliantly written strips in the history of comics.

This means we’ll get to see someone KEEL DA JEFFY!:Before that happens, though, it sure would be interesting to see how Patty is coping with her husband’s new look and outlook. Also, how is their love life these days?

Cloying Croc…

what the…… Change this storyline.

Why couldn’t Larry have come back as Margo, or Tommie, or LuAnn?!?

So Larry is still Giant Jeffrey? Who were those two moron crocs yesterday Stephan?

Wasn’t Jeffrey much taller when he left the island?

I get it: When Larry found out he was going to be reincarnated, he said, “I’ll be back in a Jeffy!”

Too bad the whole island thing didn’t turn out to be Zebra having a nightmare.

This is as close as a Family Circus character has come to being funny in decades. (The early F.C. strips were actually humorous, but it’s been a long time since the strip offered anything more than gaggily cutesy-pie fare.)

I’m kinda impressed Pastis managed to actually bring Zebra and Larry home, I assumed they would just reappear with everything normal. I guess the secret to a successful comic strip is keeping expectations low
