Reruns? Mr. Trudeau started his break already?
ilxmord almost 12 years ago
Don’t listen to Richard S. Russell. June is actually Feed the Troll Month!
Enjoy!

Every month should be “Do Not Feed the Trolls Month”!
arye uygur almost 12 years ago
If this isn’t a re-run, then he’s a great uncle.
bkybl almost 12 years ago
Just check the copyright year between panels 1 and 2. Definitely from last year.

Worth pointing out that it only takes say one regular and a couple of newbies to give in and throw some peanuts, and the whole comment section is shot for another day. That and people talking about trolls and how not to reply to them. Like me. I’ll shut up now…
txmystic almost 12 years ago
Yes, this is another repeat. We know Jeff squandered his money and now lives in his parents’ basement, suffering from writer’s block…

Wouldn’t it be great if we all had reruns once in a while. A second chance to get something right, that we messed up the first time. I am just speaking for myself. I know that most of the rest of you are boringly perfect.
Rasslebear almost 12 years ago
it’s called a “cliffhanger”…. tease us with the birth of the twins, and then take a month before he returns to it. the bastard…

Patience people – it’ll be worth the wait!

I would only change from June 8, 1943 to June 8, 1961, birthday to high school graduation. But everyone knows that if you could return to the past with what you know the only thing you would change is your stock picks.

March 5, 2012. It’s a rerun.

Despite being reruns this week, did the Chicago Tribune drop Doonesbury for good as of this week? I notice it was replaced by a comic strip called “Animal Crackers”.

@sierrasevenExcellent comments yesterday. Thank you.

My local paper missed a few days and already has Jeff telling his dad about the house he bought!
montessoriteacher almost 12 years ago
Ok thanks, GT. I am hooked on Breaking Bad now. I still liked House of Cards better though.
montessoriteacher almost 12 years ago
Part of GT’s shtick is to meander around with story lines. I hate to see too many reruns brought in however.
annieb1012 almost 12 years ago
And I’m still waiting to find out what Drew (remember her?!) meant when she said, “I have news, too!” (Or words to that effect…)
kaffekup almost 12 years ago
Right, reruns for 3 months now. I’ll miss the new strips, but hopefully the T’s will be too bored to type paragraphs.I find the best thing not to feel the need to reply is just not to read them. When I see some three or four names, I just scroll past.By the way, if Garrison Keilor can find someone to fill in for him, why not GBT? (Just kidding, no one could do that properly.)

“!!!#%&#!!!” about sums up this re-run for me. And maybe “+*&^%$#@” added to it!
TCulberson almost 12 years ago
I bet we get a LOT of reruns, GT’s way of ignoring what is going on the the IRS, Benghazi and every other O scandel. Not to mention the declining approval rating.
Newshound41 almost 12 years ago
After Memorial Day, the reruns start.
Kip W almost 12 years ago
It’s like 70s TV. Summer means either reruns, or one of those fill-in shows like “Scene 70” or “Malibu U.”
So (enjoy):

weird they would start a re-run on the 2nd day of the story (there’s a prior strip to this one to start that week’s run)
Maybe an error grabbing the 6-10 strip?
Darryl Heine almost 12 years ago
During the Doonesbury 12 week hiatus, creator Garry Trudeau will be working on an online satire show called “Alpha House”.
TCulberson almost 12 years ago
yeah, wouldn’t want to limit the exchange to RSR’s personal friends. Freedom of Speech and all that
caligula almost 12 years ago
Problem is, without the Zipper, he burns dry and runs into a MAJOR case of writers block. He needs Zip as his idea backboard.
And Zipper does have a half million in student loans to pay.

rerun…
sierraseven almost 12 years ago
Actually, it seems that personal attacks don’t get one banned – even if reported to the mods. Witness Tucci, who even posted threats of violence.
kaffekup almost 12 years ago
“Flag” is probably there just to make us feel better. They probably don’t pay any staff to actually monitor it. .As for threats of violence, while obnoxious, I strongly doubt they’re taken seriously among anonymous posters scattered across the world.
Greg Johnston almost 12 years ago
^^What she said. That said, it is cute when the troll(s) get so anxious to stir something up that they respond to posts about trolls. They know who/what they are, eh?And yes, personal attacks do seem to receive wide leeway, at least for some.
Uncle Joe almost 12 years ago
This is a re-run from 3/5/12, as are many of the comments!
tigerchik32 almost 12 years ago
Yeah. What’s the deal here?
joyceww almost 12 years ago
I too, have been anxiously awaiting the birth of the babies.

I’m reminded of a joke in which two men were watching a game show on TV..One bet the other the contestant would miss the next question. The other took him up on the bet..When the contestant missed the question, the first better confessed it wasn’t a fair bet because he had seen the show two hours earlier..The second better proceded to pay up, explaining he had also seen him miss it earlier so he figured he’d get it right the second time.

I’ll be happy to comply. Trying to reason with “willful ignorance” is a waste of time. It’s kind of interesting that I used to tell my students, I don’t care what you believe, you are here to learn the subject matter at hand. What I don’t understand here is why folks who are obviously not interested in the subject matter feel they have to tell us what they think. I simply don’t want to know and I absolutely don’t care.
lindz.coop Premium Member almost 12 years ago
I don’t know about that — there have been plenty of personal attacks and cursing — and the nonsense continues. I think whoever said these folks get paid per hit and the advertisers also cash in on it is probably right.
tcarroll29 almost 12 years ago
I think it is a dream panel…
