Condolences to the families of the Arizona firefighters who lost their lives yesterday.

Well, at least she gets to see Quill. I was afraid her commitment to tend Shannon would take her away from the event altogether.

Well, I dunno. There might be a few fireworks going boom when Brad&Toni…or Luann&Quill…start getting…a little frisky… ;)

For many, saying, “Well, be careful.” Means, “I love you and don’t want to see you hurt.”.It doesn’t always mean, “I don’t have confidence in what you’re doing”, or “I don’t think you able to do that.”

In my previous life as an EMT, our squad had either white coveralls, or a “dress uniform” either of which, per the by-laws, were acceptable while taking a duty call, although coveralls were preferred. Sometimes, when people would respond directly to the scene from their homes, all they’d have as a windbreaker jacket with screen printed insignia.

IIRC, the “day duty” uniform on “Emergency!” was the class “A” and all they’d put on were the coats. At night, they had the bunker pants near the bed and would put them on for night calls. But that could be the “old ways” now.

Toni and Brad and Luann and Quill are a match. Looks like Nancy and Frank are heading, in comic strip time, towards empty-nesterville.

He’s a dad or just a parent. I don’t care how expert you are at something, mom and dad are going to tell you to be careful. It’s a mom-and-dad-mantra.

Luann was being jerky, but not actually breaking any rules that had been established. Her punishment for being a rotten brat is something that is over by now. She had to detail the cars, or wash the windows or something. Every bad behavior is not worth ruining her whole summer over. This one only merited a little punishment.

It’s a little ambiguous, but it sure looks like Luann could be reaching over into Quill’s crotch. Lets hope so.

Last year’s fireworks display in San Diego DID go up all at once. The whole show lasted fifteen seconds and then everyone had to leave.

The tragedy is that most people think firefighters just sit around the firehouse and play poker. The average person – like you – figures he knows all about it, and grumps about the pensions that fire fighters earn. Even trained professionals die in fires, as Arizona’s recent events show.

And find another way to insult Frank, if you have to do that. Don’t call him a ‘woman’ because you don’t like him.

I’m looking forward to doing fireworks with my sisters.

I hope that Tiffany doesn’t stop by and steal Quill from Luann. BTW, to Greg Evans: I hope that Tiffany doesn’t get wind of Brad and Toni’s upcoming wedding because after the scam that cost her the title of Miss Chamber of Commerace (as Sheraton St. Louis), I’m willing to bet they don’t want anything to do with her in the future, not even INVITE her.

One more thing: I never found out why Tiffany didn’t get the lead nor a cameo in the ‘Eyez of Zye’ film. Does anyone know why?

Frank is just being a parent. We must spout cautionary statements no matter how silly we know it to be.

Brad & Toni are holding hands & commingling with family, probably each of which is in violation of Dept. regs.*Quill & Luann are holding hands & commingling with each other, probably each of which is in violation of her grounding regs.*Mom & Dad are not even touching, which shows what happens after marriage.*Dad is acting like a dad, Mom is acting like a smitten mother-in-law, Quill is acting like a smiting son-in-law-to-be, and Shannon is acting like a Princess. *Shannon’s self-confidence is refreshing— if only it could be kept into puberty. Shannon’s self-confidence is annoying— if only it weren’t based on egoism.

It could be safely assumed that there would be a parade, and they probably had “parade duty”, to be there on hand to assist at a certain section of the parade (with differing units manning different sections) and also during the fireworks portion, and the DeGroots could have been able to sit near their particular station during the events…..

Funny, this has the feel of a Sunday Strip… and to the one who said that Shannon isn’t very bright, you can’t have read this strip very often, Shannon is actually quite precocious, but, right now, she’s acting like what she is, a 6 yr old girl.

Seems to me that it won’t be all that long until the wedding, if Shannon is already talking about walking down the aisle (As a flower girl, I presume)

I considered it because the setting in this morning’s master strip just seems way too ideal, and too early in the week. And given that Greg has handled serious subjects previously (i.e. Delta’s cancer, school bullying, workplace harassment, etc. etc.)…

I want good things also. I just don’t want Greg throwing us a curve ball at this point.

Honestly, I think April of ‘14 would be the date (which would be a year to the day of the proposal)….. keep forgetting that the year is more than halfway over, with five months to go (everyone knows the month you’re in goes by fast, as we count down for each weekend…even faster, during football season… heh heh….)…==So if you are saying that it would be two years, then I chalk that up to “Luanniverse” time… if it’s less (like at year’s end) that would have to be some serious non stop arcs for B&T for a month or two, maybe… the only thing we can do is wait and see…. but of course as we are both saying, there’s PLENTY of adventures leading up to it… but I had expected it in April of ’14…..

Hmm. Ann, blaming Toni for her sudden departure from Weenie World, steals Luann’s bridesmaid dress, dons some Clark Kent glasses, and walks down the aisle behind her. She waits patiently for “Does anyone have a reason why these two should not wed.” She whips off the specs, revealing her true identity, but not the fact that the “bump” under her dress is actually a basketball. She shouts “I have a reason. Brad has to marry me after doing THIS to me.” At this point Luann comes running down the aisle in her underwear and stabs Ann in the stomach, bursting the basketball. TJ and Ms Phelps run over and drag Ann off to Cafe TJ. The wedding proceeds.

argy likes to argy with people. If possible he will try an start an argy. Yesterday argy accused me on hating Luann, trying to start an argy. Of course in his defense, I have been known on occasion to write somewhat argymentative statements, so I had best stop here.

I went to a 4th of July fireworks display where they all blew up at once. It was actually pretty funny, once the fireball started receding.
